AVImark vs. ezyVet: Reporting Compared

AVImark and ezyVet sit on opposite ends of the practice management spectrum — AVImark is a mature, on-premise system with decades of installed base among independent practices; ezyVet is a cloud-native, API-first platform built around real-time access from the ground up. An owner comparing the two on reporting specifically is usually either considering a switch or trying to understand why data behaves so differently once a clinic migrates from one to the other.

Where AVImark holds up
AVImark's reporting module can answer narrow, specific questions well once an owner knows exactly which report to run — it just doesn't offer anything resembling a live dashboard or trend view without exporting data and building that view manually. For a single-location practice with someone comfortable navigating AVImark's report menus, this is a workable if manual process.
Where ezyVet pulls ahead
ezyVet's real API access is the meaningful structural advantage: data is available to query live rather than waiting on an overnight batch export, and a properly built integration can reflect same-day activity instead of yesterday's numbers. That said, an API being available doesn't mean ezyVet's own built-in reporting screens go much further than AVImark's in per-provider or multi-location comparison — the advantage is in what a third-party tool can build on top of that live access, not in ezyVet's native report library itself.
What this means for reporting either way
Whichever of the two a practice runs, neither natively answers the ongoing, owner-level question of whether the practice is getting healthier or not — that requires either regular manual export-and-spreadsheet work or a reporting layer built on top.
