VetPulse / Glossary / Peer Comparison Deviation
What is Peer Comparison Deviation?
A signal that a clinic's share of revenue from a single service category (e.g. dentistry, pharmacy, grooming) deviates meaningfully from the median of a cohort of similar-sized practices in the same region. Calculated by VetPulse's cross-practice benchmarking engine, which pools anonymized revenue-mix data across its install base into cohorts (grouped by practice size and region) and only surfaces a comparison once a cohort is large enough, and no single practice dominant enough within it, to keep any one clinic's numbers from being reverse-engineered out of the aggregate.
